3 Bunnies Three little blue bunnies are placed in a line and shown that only one will make a sound when you squeeze it. They are mixed up and the person asked to choose. they are wrong each time, or right each time, lots of fun and very cute with young children. Time allotment 3 minutes.
Bag to Silk a colorful bag has been used to hold a few tricks you are using, when it suddenly changes into a large silk scarf. Time allotment less than a minute usually
Break-A-Way Fan a clever and amusing effect, when using the help of a child in a trick, you ask them to hold your fan, when they open it, it is broken into individual strands. But when the magician takes it back and opens it, it is fixed. Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Burned Envelope Prediction A spectator is selected to assist. they are given a pad and a pen to write anything on, then they place the page into an envelope and sealed. the sealed envelope is tossed into a tray, squirt with lighter fluid and set ablaze. Afterwards the magician reveals what was written on the page Time
Cards* There are so many card tricks out there it is hard to pick just a few. But for you I will do a few of the most clever card magic available. Time allotment 5 minutes. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler but can be an act of its own.
Change Bag This is just what is says, you can put things in and pull different things out. just as cutting up someone's neck tie, dropping it in the change bag, wave your hand, reach in and pull out restored neck tie. Or a bead necklace, you get the idea. Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Paper Cone The paper cone is made of a grocery paper bag. folded in such a way as to create a cone, like an ice cream cone. small silks, cards etc. can be pushed in and when it is opened, they have vanished or changed to something else. Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Chop Cup This is one cup and one ball from my Cups n Balls set, with this one I like to do a version of my friend "Shyster Joe" routine. I look at him as a midway caller at the fair selling his wares. It's a "comical and punny set", Time allotment 5 minutes. usually used solo but can interact.
Cups and Balls Three cups upside down and three balls are placed on the table, one ball placed on top of the middle cup and the other two cups placed on top, then the ball has passed through to the table top, Repeated until all the balls have passed through. Time allotment 5 minutes. Various storylines.
Cut and Restored Bead Necklace Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Empty Box A box is shown empty by pulling off the front and back panels, the panels are replaced and items are pulled out. repeatable, item ideas are endless. A great beginner act. Time allotment 2 minutes.
Funnel Kind of looks like an old oil funnel for adding oil to your cars engine. But the way I use it, First of all I get a couple of kids from the crowd, ask one to be the well, and the other to pump her arm, I slip the funnel under her elbow and as the other girl pumps, water comes out of the funnel. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Insurance Policy This is a classic card trick where you tell the audience you have a policy for the deck of cards. Asking someone to select a card and showing it around. the card returned to the deck, the magician cuts the cards to find the wrong card. Examining the policy shows you have two more chances. Both fail, but as you check the policy each time and open it up reveals their card printed on the inside. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Crystal Tube This is a plastic tube that you feed a silk through, place another one in each end, wave your hand over, blow the silks out to show now linked together. Can be done as a single trick or as part of a routine. Time allotment 20 sec.- 3 minutes.
Live Wire Taking the cut and restored rope trick into the Twentieth century, this one had a light bulb in the socket, when plugged into a socket or extension cord, the light is turned on. The cord is looped into the hand and wire cutters are used to cut the cord and the light goes out. A few more cuts and cord parts are falling to the ground, then mysteriously the cord restored and the light comes on. Time allotment 3 minutes.
Linking Rings An old classic of magic, said to originate in the orient more than 3 thousand years ago. Rings are randomly linked and unlinked at will, two singles linked and handed to someone with instructions to unlink, they can't. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Milk Penetration A long stem glass is shown empty, a card placed on top, a silk draped over. A glass of milk is placed on top of all this and you visibly watch the milk level in the glass go down. removing the card and silk reveals the milk in the long stem glass. A great opener, and works in a routine. Time allotment 3 minutes.
Milk Pitcher A child is asked to volunteer for this one, she is asked to read the instructions on the card. simple to do when written in invisible ink. A very funny trick with a surprise ending from a blunder. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Multiplying Billiard Balls A great hand manipulation exercise. A ball in the magicians hand suddenly adds to two and then to three and finally four and then one. very mysterious. Time allotment 3 minutes or part of a routine.
Multum in Parvo As previously mentioned I do a version of a routine by my friend "Shyster Joe", my character is a midway caller at the fair. A glass of milk is shown, through out the story it is poured into larger glasses, yet they fill it up. until the largest cup is poured into the smallest cup. All of it. Great routine. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Needle through Balloon The magician inflates a balloon and ties it off, pulling a large needle out of a sheath, proceeds to run the needle through the balloon without popping it. very nerve wracking but intriguing. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Needle through Bending Glass A glass mirror is placed into a picture frame and then placed into a knit bag. A knitting needle is run through the middle of the bag penetrating the mirror, then the glass and frame are folded in half. The frame and mirror straitened and removed from the bag are shown restored and the glass mirror removed from the frame untouched. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Pre-Recorded Card Prediction The magician explains that his assistant was unable to assist tonight but she had a thought, so she recorded it. and she is right every time, a great mystery card trick Time allotment 5 minutes. This is a trick originated by my friend Lee, he and his wife do a wonderful mind reading routine.
Ring on a Rope/Ribbon this is a wonderful table top mystery, two spectators are asked to hold the ends of a rope, a scarf is draped over the rope. A borrowed ring shown and then it is on the rope with a bow. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Silks* There are way too many to name here so I made a page for them.
Silk Fountain A bundle is shown and starts to unravel exposing other silks like a fountain until a surprise finale at the end. Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Silk Serenade a Classic of magic, a blast from the past, the fifties and sixties. Three forty five records are shown and placed into a sleeve, colored silk placed through the center hole, and when removed it has changed to the color of the silk, repeated for all three. Colorful and bright. Time allotment 2 minutes.
20th Century Silk Two silks are tied together and placing the knot of the two silks in the hand of a volunteer, a third silk is introduced and vanished. When the two silks the volunteer has been holding has the vanished silk tied between. Time allotment 5 minutes.
Sponge Balls Three sponge balls are shown, one is taken and handed to someone, another one is vanished and found in the persons hand. Time allotment 3 minutes.
Toilet Paper A roll of Toilet paper is placed between a spectators thumbs as a holder, a few squares are taken and rolled into a ball, and made to vanish right in front of their face. Mind blowing. Time allotment 5 minutes. Don't try this at home.
Vanishing Candle to Silk TA candle is shown on a stand, it is lit and removed from the stand, suddenly the candle vanishes and a silk in its place. Time allotment less than a minute. usually used as a transitional or finale or filler.
Zombie An aluminum spun ball is placed on a stand, covered with a scarf it begins to float and dance around, amusing and beautiful. Time allotment 5 minutes.
